Dovedale

First on our list of Peak District Attractions is Dovedale, a gorgeous landmark known for the Dovedale picturesque stepping stones, limescale ravines and the iconic River Dove. You can take a hike up the limestone hill to the top of Thorpe Cloud and enjoy the gorgeous views of The Peak District with a high elevation point of 287 metres. There are also options for a much safer family walk along the Dove River where you can enjoy scenes of wildlife as well as Dove stepping stones. A great time spent outdoors.

Ridge Walk

Next on our list is Ridge Walk, a fantastic place to enjoy gorgeous views including sights of the Peak District National Park, Hope Valley, Edale Valley and the edge of Kinder Scout. In addition, there’s a fantastic trail to follow where you’ll find several caves and even views of Peveril Castle! A stunning walk to explore in The Peak District.

Heights of Abraham

Moving on with our list of The Peak District Attractions is the Heights of Abraham, a popular tourist attraction. Here you can enjoy a cable car ride, experiencing 360 views of The Peak District as well as guided tours through stunning caverns, exhibitions, woodland trails, adventure playgrounds and a gorgeous food and drink venue. This attraction is a hotspot for romantic days out as well as family days out, something for everyone! 

Lead Mining Museum

Next on our list is the Lead Mining Tours, a fantastic opportunity to explore old mining caves that were used many years ago by families who were trying to make a living. You can take guided tours of the caves, take part in a range of mining activities and learn all about the history. This is a great day out in The Peak District, full of learning and adventures.

The Monsal Trail

If you like to walk, cycle or you’re simply just a lover of trains, The Monsal Trail is a great place for you. Experience spectacular views of old railway routes which were opened to the public in 1981. You can walk through the railway tunnels, some being 400 metres long. In addition, you can enjoy gorgeous views of The Peak District including famous attractions such as Water-jolly Dale. If you don’t have your own bike don’t worry, there’s plenty of bikes to hire near the start of the trail.

Crich Tramway Museum

Next on our list is the Crich Tramway Museum, an iconic tramway museum renowned for their vintage trams, unique streets from many years ago as well as the interesting exhibitions in the Tramway Gallery. This is an ideal place to explore history with friends and family, as well as having a fun-filled day out in the countryside air.

Stanage Edge

If you enjoy hiking and walks, visiting The Stanage Edge is a fabulous choice. You can experience a walk through The Peak District National Park where you’ll find spectacular landmarks and stunning views for miles. There is a unique trail which takes you through the historic village of Hathersage as well as taking you past beautiful architectural buildings. In addition, you’ll have the chance to explore the secret cave of Robin Hood.

Underground Peak Cavern

Last but not least on our list of Peak District Attractions is the iconic Peak Cavern which is known as the cave with the biggest entrance in Britain. You can find this cave in a stunning little village called Castleton, with easy access signs directing you to the very place. You can enjoy guided tours of the unique lit up caves as well as the opportunity to explore all about the caves history. An ideal family day out in the Peak District.
